On Summer 2016, my parents said me we were going to Berlin and I was surprized because I wanted to go there since I first saw my old favorite series called “Perdiendo el Norte”. I was really excited.

The 19th of August 2016 we took a plane on the Barajas airport of Madrid to Berlin, the capital of Germany. When we landed I saw that German airport was very empty, with very few planes. We rented a car and we went directly to the hotel that was enormus and very comfortable, with Spa and Gym. We spent 6 days there.

Our first day in Berlin we went to the Alexanderplatz and we went up to the tower with fantastic views of the whole city. That was amacing because the city is beautiful. Then we had a good lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon we went to the Checkpoint Charlie that was the main door of the Wall that divided the Sovietic side with the American side in the times of the Cold War, and finally we took a walk around the city till the night and we had dinner in the hotel.

The second day we went to the square of burned books and we saw two famous historic museums in the Isle of the Museums, and we spent at least 1 hour waiting till we finally get in and sincerely was a Little bit boring for me because I dont like museums. Then we went to the Brandenburg Gate that is extremelly famous in the world and its why i was so excited to watch it and also because its very beautifull. We took a good photo there and finally we went to the Holocaust Memorial monument that surprized me because i thought it was quite different.

The third day was very cool. First of all, we saw the most famous part of the remains of the Berlin Wall and I really liked it because it´s near a river and it´s a really good place to stay in. Then we spent the afternoon in a park were we rented some bicycles and we had a good time all the family. I was very surprized on how well done was the bike lane and also how some buildings were built, following the Nazi structures. It was a really good day.

The fourth day we visited two important cities near Berlin: Postdam and Dresden. These cities suffered a lot during the Second World War and we could see it in some old rebuilt buildings that have black colours in the walls caused by the smoke of the bombings. They were really good cities with a lot of history and made me fall in love with these cities. I recommend them cent per cent.
The fifth day we saw the Reichstag that is the German parlament and has a lot of history because it was burned during the Nazi period. It´s placed in a huge place with a big garden where people used to go and relax. We also went to visit the cathedral of Berlin that was distroyed during the Second World war and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church that was a  protestant church, also distroyed and then rebuilt.

Our last day in Berlin was the best one for me. We spent the whole morning visiting the first concentration camp built in Germany. This was the Sachsenhausen concentration camp where the Nazis used to kill people and make them suffen and suffen till they finally die. In this camp i saw many things that made me know  how crazy Nazi people were. There were gas chambers, many cells for the people arrested and some torture rooms. There was also a kitchen were they gave rotten food. The door of the concentration camp was: “Work will make you free” and it made me get very angry. It was a good historical place to visit. Then, in the afternoon, we visited the olympic stadium of Berlin called Olympiastadion. It´s very famous because in it Adolf Hitler didnt want to gave Jessie Owens a gold medal for the reason of being a black man. Here I definitely understood how stupid and crazy this man was. This stadium was were the final of the Champions league took place facing the teams Barcelona and Juventus.

I´ve visited many european countries and cities. For me, this city has something special that i wouldn´t forget never. The people, the food, the monuments and the “special” weather makes it one of the most wonderful places i´ve ever been. I recommend it so much….
